HK$198,000 for 36 credits for local students (excl. summer school)
HK$244,800 for 36 credits for non-local students (excl. summer school)

In addition, students have to pay the fees for a summer school course* organised by an AACSB or EQUIS accredited member of the Alliance of Chinese and European Business Schools (ACE) outside Greater China. The fees, including the cost of accommodation, totaled approximately EUR 1,200 in 2018. Students also bear the costs of travel, visa, insurance, etc.

* Students are required to successfully complete at least 10 ECTS in a summer school course run by an AACSB or EQUIS accredited member of the ACE to earn the required 6 PolyU credits for "International Experience" (via credit transfer). Payment of course fee should be made directly to the offering institution. MSc BM programme does not charge a fee for the 6 credits.

Programme Aims

This programme aims to help students seek practical solutions in a global and dynamic business environment.

 

Programme Intended Learning Outcomes

On completion of the Programme, students will be able to develop their knowledge, skills and intellectual abilities as defined in the broad learning outcomes which are underpinned by the specific learning objectives below:

  1. Application of Concepts 
    Learning Objective: Apply conceptual frameworks to the resolution of business issues, including those concerning the scope and direction of the organisation.
  2. Critical, Creative and Design Thinking 
    Learning Objective: Demonstrate the ability to think critically and creatively within the domain of general management’s responsibilities, and to apply methods associated with Design Thinking.
  3. Effective Communication
    Learning Objective: Present reasoned arguments effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  4. Self Knowledge and Reflection
    Learning Objective: Illustrate the ability and self-knowledge required to prepare themselves for new settings and reflect effectively on their performance in those settings.
  5. Global Outlook 
    Learning Objective: Demonstrate a global outlook and an understanding of cultural diversity, as evidenced by an understanding of globalisation, the dimensions along which cultures vary and the implications of both for business.
  6. Ethical Thinking 
    Learning Objective: Identify and resolve ethical issues as they arise in the context of general management and corporate social responsibility.
Recognition & Prospects

The development of managerial knowledge and skills is a significant community need in any society that seeks to build on the opportunities inherent in a changing world. This programme is designed to provide students with a set of soft skills and the integrative skills required to function in a global environment.

Curriculum

Programme Structure
The programme is designed with a structured progression pattern, and students are highly encouraged to follow the pattern to benefit from cohort-based study and to graduate in one year. However, as the programme is credit-based, it gives the students the flexibility to proceed at their own pace, while not exceeding the prescribed maximum study period.

 

The programme requires a total of 42 credits.

(i)   Not all subjects will be offered in a given year, and are subject to factors such as staff availability, student enrolment, programme resources and so on.

Entrance Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a non-business discipline;
    OR
  • ​A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a business discipline in which the medium of instruction was not English.

Preference will be given to applicants with less than 2 years of post-undergraduate corporate experience.


​If you are not a native speaker of English, and your Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification is awarded by institutions where the medium of instruction is not English, you are expected to fulfil the University’s minimum English language requirement for admission purpose.
