Programme Aims
This programme helps students to acquire knowledge of Chinese language, literature and culture, the skills necessary for teaching Chinese and the ability to apply what they have learned to their work.

The MACLL and the PgDCLL are listed by the Education Bureau as a Recognised Language Major Degree Programme (Chinese Language) and an Approved Post-graduate Programme in Subject Knowledge (PGSK) for Chinese Language Teachers, respectively.
After graduation, students can engage in related occupations such as teachers, editors, etc.
Programme Structure
The programme includes 5 Compulsory Subjects (2 Chinese Language subjects, 2 Chinese Literature subjects and 1 Chinese Culture subject) and a number of Elective Subjects. Students have to take at least 1 Elective Subject from the Chinese Language Block and 1 Elective Subject from the Chinese Literature Block.
MACLL students are required to take 10 subjects (30 credits), of which 5 must be Compulsory Subjects and the remaining 5 Elective Subjects. PgDCLL students are required to take 7 subjects (21 credits), of which 5 must be Compulsory Subjects and the remaining 2 Elective Subjects.
