Student Message

Student Message

Supply Chain Management involves the oversight of the supply chain from upstream suppliers to downstream buyers. It is an essential element in maintaining the smooth operation of a company. This programme allows you to acquire not only academic theories but also up-to-date industry information. Apart from your academic studies, you will find various opportunities to explore your new talents and passions.

While studying at PolyU, I went on a study tour to Osaka, where I visited various logistics companies there. I have worked as an intern in Shanghai, where I experienced China's rapid growth. I joined the overseas exchange programme to study in Germany, where I developed friendships with people from around the world. All of the above experiences have enriched my university life and equipped me as a future leader in the business world. I have also received full support from the faculty members and alumni related to career planning before graduation. I am so grateful that I chose to study GSCM at PolyU.

Carlos Yu

PolyU is the only university in Hong Kong to offer a comprehensive range of programmes related to logistics and maritime studies. One of these programmes, Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM), cultivates management personnel for the industry through diversified education. We studied various GSCM topics through group discussions, case studies, tutorial tasks, research projects, group projects, site visits and study tours. This is not only an effective but also a fun way for students to integrate theoretical knowledge and practical work.

Scholarships and funding provided by the Department and PolyU also gave me valuable opportunities to study abroad. I participated in an internship programme in Xian as a procurement trainee. I also joined a study tour to the Netherlands. I was greatly inspired by visiting GSCM-related companies, museums and universities in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

GSCM is a practical and interesting subject. I am so glad to have graduated from this programme at PolyU.
