Student Message

Student Message

The programme enabled me to apply operations management techniques in real-life situations and equipped me with the analytical and statistical skills needed to adapt to the ever-changing business world.

I had many invaluable opportunities to discuss business cases with professors and classmates with different industry backgrounds. Their innovative ideas inspired me to consider multiple perspectives and enhanced my analytical skills. The programme also introduced quality management techniques, such as statistical process control and key performance indicators, which helped me to define potential business problems and bottlenecks. These statistical techniques and tools are also crucial for critical evaluation. Using mathematical models, I was able to make better business decisions.

Realising that the skills and mindset nurtured by this programme are highly applicable to the workplace, I decided to continue exploring operations management even after obtaining professional qualifications such as Green Belt and Lean Leader from the Six Sigma Institute.

This programme truly inspired me. The courses are well structured, comprehensive and enlightening. The wide variety of subjects allows students to specialise in different streams under the umbrella of operations management, as well as learning about other topics of interest.

My lecturers were always very supportive and friendly, which helped to overcome any difficulties caused by the pandemic. Their enthusiasm and willingness to share their experiences made my learning more interesting and vivid. Working with students from different fields also enabled me to learn about practices in other industries.

Interactive learning through real-life case studies and projects gave me insights into the practical applications of theories. Through intensive engagement and interaction with other students during classes, I gained an in-depth understanding of and analytical perspective on the topics taught. The programme gave me a solid foundation for applying my knowledge in the ever-changing business world.
