Student Message

Student Message

Like many others who want to make the most of University life, I have taken part in many of the extracurricular activities made available at PolyU, which have substantially enhanced my personal development.

Over the years I have been a class representative, an ambassador in the Global Student Ambassador Program and a member of the volunteer team of the faculty of business. My experience of various meetings and events has improved my communication and organization skills, and I have become more culturally aware and open-minded through working with many non-local students along the way.

Business competition is a good area for me to test my understanding and competence regarding real business problems, and my skills and knowledge were gained and refined through classroom assignments and activities, and through the array of seminars provided by the departments.

All in all, PolyU students are provided with many opportunities and resources to explore themselves. I'm grateful for all of the valuable experiences and insights that I have acquired throughout my study in PolyU, which have enabled me to be confident and to see a prosperous future for myself.

After just one year of study at PolyU, what I have gained here has totally exceeded my expectations. For instance, I participated in the Joint University Outstanding Marketing Award competition. We competed with many teams from the 8 local universities and won the championship. The competition gave me an opportunity to apply what I have learnt to the real business context. I was also able to work as an intern in a leading e-commerce firm last summer vacation. In addition, I was accepted into the International Exchange Programme to study for one semester in a university in the UK. Added to that, I was awarded an FWD Insurance Scholarship and a Dr Tang Kui Ming Scholarship. PolyU has provided me with the opportunities and resources that will help me realise my potential. PolyU is definitely an outstanding choice.
